About Us

Kyle and I met in architecture school and made our way from Oklahoma to the Pacific Northwest soon after graduation. After starting new careers and getting married, we did what any young architect couple feels compelled to do – we bought a crappy old house. In 2006, after six months of searching and six different offers on other houses, we closed on our fixer-upper and have since been immersed in the remodel, retrofit, and reconstruction of what we have affectionately named chezerbey. In 2012 we welcomed our first daughter and started our own design firm, Studio Zerbey. Work on the house has slowed since then (having our second daughter in 2014 didn’t help!) but it will happen (it will!).
