bailey vs. felix

January 18, 2012

I’m not sure what normal behavior is between a dog and a cat, but I’m fairly sure this isn’t it.

[Apologies for the annoying vertical iPhone videos, you might want to watch full screen. And yes, next time I'll rotate.]

HA! that made my day. my cat and dog would play like that too! so cute.

Of course, what’s really hysterical here is that Bailey is more interested in your reaction to the antics than the antics themselves. Play posture. Point Bailey. Play posture. Point Felix…who couldn’t care less what anyone thinks of his behavior. Fun!

I’m on Team Felix. I like a cat who wears the pants in the family.

Yes! My cuteness fix is fulfilled–thank you!

It’s normal in my house :) They both give as good as they get. The cat will hide behind a door and pounce on the dog, and the dog will actually pull the cat down off his scratching post by grabbing his leg if he can. They both seem to love it but I’m amazed they don’t actually hurt each other sometimes.

I think I’ve mostly been around cats that wanted nothing to do with dogs so that seemed “normal” to me. I’m glad “our boys” get along. Even though Bailey seems annoyed, he is wagging his tail most of the time. =)

    That’s so fun !
I used to know a dog who kept whinning in front of the baby cat of the house, but played and slept with him every day !
it seems to me that Felix is a winning in this game…

This is adorable! If I lived with these two, I’m not sure I’d get anything done because I’d be trying to get them to play together like this all the time. Felix hanging from Bailey’s collar cracked me up!

I know! Did you hear the low whine that Bailey was making? I thought it was Felix at first but it was Bails. Poor guy.

love this! i think that bailey is my favorite golden (besides my own of course). he is so fluffy cute!

our one cat, trevi, will sometimes play with the dogs like that. he also will fetch a toy though and i think that he thinks that he is a dog.

Haha, I caught Felix playing with a tennis ball the other day. It was pretty funny.

haha! so cute! our cat is a menace (and thinks he’s a dog) and plays pretty rough with one of our dogs, too! the other one he’s learned to leave alone, apparently blue heelers are just way too cool to play with cats.

  12. January 19, 2012 2:15 pm

i think the keeks is being cautious about playing with somebody so much bigger. and i think bailey is being mr. sweet as pie with somebody who’s a little insecure.

  13. January 19, 2012 5:41 pm

This is reassuring, as we’re considering getting a kitten to go with our 3 year old Lab. He’s a big wuss normally, but we’re still skeered!

Yep, looks normal to me, too: Bailey wants to play, Felix wants to be the boss (watch those chairs, dude!) and look cool (flopping on the rug like he owns the place). The hanging-under-Bailey shot is priceless.

When I brought big, calm rescue home, he chased the cat, then stopped mid-room, turned 180 and looked back over his shoulder as if to say, ‘ok, it’s your turn to chase me now!’

yeah, felix got a little to ‘boss’ when he started pushing around the eames chairs, he’s 10 pounds of mayhem
